UK’s Birmingham Airport evacuated, flights suspended

LONDON, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) — The United Kingdom’s (UK) Birmingham Airport is being evacuated and all flights have been suspended following a report of a suspicious vehicle, the airport and local police said on Wednesday.
Birmingham Airport said on social media that the West Midlands Police are “currently on-site dealing with an incident.”
“Airport operations are currently suspended,” it said, advising passengers to avoid traveling to the airport for the time being.
This is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, said the West Midlands Police. ■
